Can Psilocybin Stimulate Neurogenesis in the Hippocampus?
Zarah Haniff, pharmacist and PhD fellow in the Thuret Lab at King's College London, explores how adult hippocampal neurogenesis may explain how psilocybin works in Psychology Today
This is part of the The Mental Health Innovation Group blog run by COMPASS pathways.
PhD student Tinne Nissen was selected to participate and present her research at the FENS winter school focusing on neuroimmune interactions in health and disease in Austria.

A new paper from the Thuret lab published in Brain demonstrates how human hippocampal progenitors exposed to serum can predict the progression to Alzheimer's.
Congratulations to postdoc Edina Silajdzic and Hyunah Lee!
The Thuret Lab wins best group fancy dress at the BCN Christmas party

Postdoc Curie Kim receives funding for investigating trial participant diversity
Congratulation to Dr Curie Kim who was recently awarded a small grant from the King’s Together Public Mental Health Initiative Early Career Researcher Seed Funding Scheme. She will be conducting her own independent qualitative research project gathering information from ethnic minorities on the main barriers that prevent them and their communities from participating in human trials. Opinions will also be gathered on strategies they believe would be effective in order to guide recruitment strategies for future trials and improve participant diversity.
PhD-student Tinne Nissen receives a conference grant
Congratulations to PhD-student Tinne Amalie Damgaard Nissen who has been awarded a grant from the Danish William Demant Fonden to go to the British Society for Immunology (BSI) Congress 2022 in Liverpool.

Swing by her poster Tuesday 6 December, 18:00-19:30 (poster P-277).
